Because of its many desirable properties, such as conductivity, corrosion resistance, malleability and ductility, copper has long been used in a wide variety of applications. The two most important alloys made with copper are brass and bronze. Copper is also alloyed with gold, silver, and nickel to produce high-strength energy conduits, such as found in plasma based weaponry.
